Russian attacker Tampa Bay Lightning Nikita Koucherov is currently the best player in the National Hockey League (NHL), said the team’s head coach, John Cooper.
In the last match of the regular season, Tampa defeated Pittsburgh (3:1), Kucherov scored a goal and an assist. This season, the Russian leads the list of top scorers in the league, scoring 44 (17+27) points in 26 matches.
“There are a lot of great players in this league, the best in the world. But I think that at the moment, after around twenty matches, we have to put him at the top. He’s an elite player. That’s all I can say,” Cooper was quoted as saying by the AP.
