Defender “Edmonton Oilers” Duncan Whale retired from the sport, according to Sportsnet.
The 38-year-old hockey player’s contract with the Oilers with a salary of $5.5 million was designed for one more season.
Keith made his NHL debut in 2005 with the Chicago Blackhawks, where he spent 16 seasons. In total, in the league, he played 1256 matches and scored 646 points (106 + 540).
The Canadian is a three-time Stanley Cup winner (2010, 2013, 2015) and two-time Olympic champion (2010, 2014). Among individual NHL awards, he won the James Norris Trophy (2010, 2014) and the Conn Smythe Trophy (2015).
