Pluschev emphasized that participation in major tournaments and the desire to win prestigious competitions, such as the World Championship, Olympics, Stanley Cup or Gagarin Cup, are important for a hockey player. Regarding Ovechkin’s achievements, he noted that the player’s statistics improve with the growth of his class. Plyushchev emphasized that Ovechkin is not chasing records, but is focused on helping his team, which is one of the reasons he is Washington’s captain.

It took Alexander Ovechkin 1,370 games to reach 1,500 points, including 827 goals.
