Director General of Moscow “Dynamo” Sergei Sushko congratulated the Blue and White player Alexandra Ovechkina reaching the milestone of 1,500 points scored in the NHL.
Ovechkin became the first Russian in the NHL to reach the 1,500 point mark. To achieve this feat, the Russian needed 1,370 matches, during which he scored 827 goals and made 673 assists.
— We are very happy that Sasha has reached such an important milestone. Let’s call things by their proper names. The season is not going well for him. A new coach, injuries to partners – all this creates additional obstacles in the pursuit of the main record. But how many times has this happened? And each time, he found a way to reverse the bad streak and return to his previous level: 1,500 points in the NHL is a brilliant result that few people can achieve. We live in the era of the greatest athlete of our time. We follow his matches closely and worry about the whole Dynamo family. I’m sure he will succeed,” Sushko said on “Championship.”
Ovechkin is 38 years old, the Russian forward has been playing for Washington since 2005. This season, Ovechkin has scored five goals and provided ten assists in 23 regular season games.
