Athletistic/Hockey. Hockey expert Leonid Weisfeld expressed his opinion regarding the upcoming international NHL tournament, in which the Russian national team may be absent. The tournament is scheduled to take place in February 2025 and will likely feature four teams: Canada, the United States, Finland and Sweden.

Weisfeld believes that everything is to blame for the “crazy Europeans”, who express their reluctance to participate in the tournament if the Russian national team takes part. He said finances and financial history play a key role in hosting events like this, and revenue is important to the NHL no matter who is involved.

He also expressed surprise and bewilderment at the decision of the teams of Sweden, the Czech Republic and Finland to refuse to participate in the tournament due to the possible participation of the Russian team. Weisfeld emphasized that hockey is a sport and said he was surprised to see how some in the hockey community have changed their attitudes due to the current global political climate.
