Athletistic / Hockey The Carolina Hurricanes spent four of their seven draft picks on Russian hockey players in the 2022 NHL Draft in Montreal.

The Hurricanes drafted Omsk Hawks striker Gleb Trikozov (60th), Loko striker Alexander Perevalov (71st), CSKA defender Vladimir Grudinin (156th) and Chaika defender Alexander Pelevin (number 205).

The best of the Russians in the draft was the defenseman of the “Saginaw Spirit”, acting in the Ontario junior league, Pavel Mintyukov, who was drafted under the 10th number by the Anaheim Ducks.

It should be noted that representatives of Slovakia Juraj Słafkowski and Szymon Nemec became the first and second draft picks.
