Olympic hockey champion Nikolai Prokhorkin who previously played for St. Petersburg SKA said that the world champion Yevgeny Ketov made the right decision in ending his career, he will now develop as a coach.
On Monday, Ketov’s farewell match took place at the SKA Arena. The striker, a two-time Gagarin Cup winner with the St. Petersburg team, ended his professional career in April at the age of 37. Since this season, Ketov has served as SKA’s player development coach.
– Amazing atmosphere. Well done for organizing such a match for Evgeniy.
— How does it feel to return to the ice in SKA colors?
— This form has just been issued by SKA.
— Did Ketov end his career too soon?
– It’s not up to us to decide. If he considered this decision to be correct, then it should be so. He did everything correctly. Now he will develop as a coach,” Prokhorkin told .
