Before “Siberia » Nikolai Prokhorkin said the team is bound to reach the playoffs this season, despite the coaching change.
Last week, Canadian David Nemirovsky was dismissed as head coach of the Novosibirsk club, and Sergei Krivokrasov became interim head coach. On December 7, “Siberia” defeated “Barys” on their ice (5:1).
— How do you personally evaluate the KHL season? You almost completely missed the last championship…
— I always want to play better. The main thing is health, and then we will succeed.
— Are they close to their previous form?
— It’s difficult to talk about form. I missed training camp, and before that the whole last year, and it comes in waves – good, good, and then I start to get tired and I can’t do anything about it. I fail a few games and recover again. This will probably be the most difficult year of my career in terms of recovery and fitness.
— How did the team react to the resignation of head coach David Nemirovsky?
— This is not a very pleasant situation for any club. But we are adults and fully understand that this happens often in our sport. We support the new coach and everyone saw how the last match went.
— Will Siberia be in a serious mood for the second part of the championship?
– There can be no other solution. We need to stay in the top eight and get to the playoffs,” Prokhorkin told RB Sport.
