Virginia approved the allocation of land for a new arena for the Ovechkin club – media

Ted Leonsis, owner of Washington hockey and basketball clubs, could move the teams to Virginia, 7News reports.

State lawmakers approved the allocation of land for the construction of a new arena for “Capitals “NHL and”Wizards ” from the NBA. The project must go through several additional stages of approval. If that happens, construction could begin in 2025 and be completed in 2028.

Currently, the Capitals and Wizards play at Capital One Arena, located in downtown Washington. Russian hockey players play for the Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin , Evgeny Kuznetsov And Alexander Alekseev .
