Athletistic/Hockey. Olympic champion Valery Kamensky reacted to Washington Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin’s record 11-game goalless streak in the NHL.

“Yes, Ovechkin has not scored for 11 matches in a row. But I am sure that this is a temporary phenomenon, and he will soon start scoring again. Sasha will succeed. A streak of failures will not prevent him to continue Gretzky’s record. After “Everyone, great athletes have periods of decline, and Alexander, of course, is human. Ovechkin is a great athlete, he has already proven it several times. I think this is only a temporary decline,” Kamensky noted in an interview with Metaratings.ru.

During the current NHL regular season, Ovechkin played 26 games in which he scored 5 goals and provided 11 assists.

The 38-year-old Russian ranks second in the history of the NHL in the number of goals scored – 827. Wayne Gretzky leads the ranking with 894 goals.
