Metallurg spoke about the health of a hockey player who received a cut in the throat with a skate

Head coach of Novokuznetsk “Metallurgy” Valery Belov spoke about the health of defender Vitaly Lyulko, who received a cut in the throat with a skate during a match with Bars Kazan in the All-Russian Hockey League OLIMPBET – Silk Road Cup.

Friday’s meeting took place in Kazan and ended with Metallurg’s victory (3:2 B). In the middle of the second period, the opponent’s skate cut the throat of 25-year-old Lyulko during a collision. Doctors provided medical care to the hockey player on the bench for several minutes, after which the athlete left the arena on a stretcher.

— A difficult moment occurred. At first I didn’t see it during the match, but then I watched it in the replay: it was an unpleasant moment, to say the least. I have just received information: everything is fine, the artery is not affected, the vessel has been sutured. Vitaly stays here in Kazan. We don’t yet know how long he will stay here. The worst, thank God, is over. “We wish Vitaly good health,” Belov is quoted on the club’s official website.

This season, Lyulko played 33 games in the VHL regular season and scored 6 (1+5) points.
