Former Spartak Moscow and Krylya Sovetov hockey player Igor Kapustin has died at the age of 66, according to the Red-White website.
Kapustin’s cause of death is not known.
From 1975 to 1981 he played for Krylya Sovetov, won the European Champions Cup (1975) and was a bronze medalist at the USSR Championship. Kapustin defended the colors of Spartak from 1981 to 1983, played 57 matches for the team and scored 34 (16+18) points, twice winning silver medals at the USSR Championship.
Subsequently, the hockey player played for Khimik Voskresensk, Moskvich, Hungarian Ferencvaros and Bat Yam from Israel.
Igor Kapustin is the younger brother of Olympic champion and seven-time world champion Sergei Kapustin.
