It was Georgiev who was the first among all NHL goaltenders to reach this mark this year. Second place is occupied by the Finnish goaltender of the Nashville Predators, Juuse Saros (35 victories). Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck (34) completes the top three.
Interestingly, Georgiev also surpassed the legendary Canadian Patrick Roy in terms of the number of victories in a calendar year (39 in 2000) and became the record holder in Colorado.
