Coach Vyacheslav Butsaev commenting on reports that he could manage Novosibirsk “Siberia” said that for now, he’s just enjoying hockey.
Previously, David Nemirovski was fired from the position of head coach of Siberia and Sergei Krivokrasov was appointed interim head coach. Alexander Zavyalov, who was part of Butsaev’s coaching team at Vityaz, was invited as an assistant to the head coach.
— How closely do you follow events in the KHL currently?

In the 2022/23 season, Butsaev achieved the best result in the club’s history in the KHL with Vityaz. The team reached the playoffs, but lost in the first round to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the series – 1-4. Before that, Vityaz had participated in the Gagarin Cup three times, but invariably lost the opening series to a clean sheet.
