A hockey player “Washington” Ivan Miroshnichenko will make his debut in the National Hockey League (NHL), reports the Capitals press service.
The 19-year-old forward will take the ice in the next regular season game against the Islanders.
Miroshnichenko, drafted by Washington in 2022 under number 20, played in the Avangard system in Russia.
He had previously been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a cancer that affects lymphocytes and destroys the immune system. After treatment, the hockey player returned to sports.
