51-year-old striker Jaromir Jagr played the first match of the 2023/24 season for hockey “Kladno” in the Czech championship.
His team lost to Pardubice on Wednesday with a score of 3:4 (0:2, 3:2, 0:0).
Jagr himself scored an assist and earned a 2 minute penalty. He spent 13 minutes and 32 seconds on the ice.
This is already the 35th season of Jagr’s professional career. Last season, he played 26 matches and scored 14 points (5+9).
The Czech has been playing for Kladno from his hometown since the 2017/18 season. He is also the owner of the club.
Cech ranks fourth in NHL history in games played (1,733) and goals scored (766), fifth in assists (1,155), and only legendary Canadian Wayne Gretzky (2,857) has scored more points than him (1,921). Cech won the Stanley Cup twice (1991, 1992) with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
