Dynamo Moscow striker Artem Ilyenko spoke about the reasons for his transition from Lokomotiv Yaroslavl to the Blue and White camp.
The hockey player graduated from Lokomotiv and made his debut for the club in 2015. Before the start of the current season of the Fonbet KHL Championship, the 27-year-old hockey player signed a contract with Dynamo until April 2026.
— Many factors influenced the final decision. First, we consulted my wife. Once again, there is a coaching staff here whose requirements I became aware of when I started playing in the first team. I understood that it would be easier to adapt here, in a team that only sets itself the maximum number of tasks and objectives.
Did the press write that other clubs offered better financial conditions? And so it was. But once again, I repeat that the most important thing for me is to be in a team that sets as many objectives as possible for the season. I do not like losing. The most important thing is to be part of a team that wants to win every game,” Ilyenko said as quoted by “Championship”.
In the 2023/24 season, Ilyenko played 41 matches for Dynamo and scored 12 (5+7) points with a utility indicator of -4.
