In the Czech Republic, national hockey championship matches were canceled after the tragedy in Prague

All matches of the Czech hockey championship, which were to take place on Friday, were postponed due to national mourning declared after the shooting at Charles University in Prague. This was reported on the social networks of the Czech Association of Professional Hockey Clubs (APK LK).

On Thursday, a shooting took place on the university campus, killing 15 people and injuring dozens more. Among the dead was the attacker, who acted alone.

“Out of respect and respect for the victims and those injured following the Charles University faculty shooting, we have decided to postpone the upcoming Extra League matches. Our decision was supported by all clubs in the championship,” said APK LK director Martin Loukota.

The new dates of the rescheduled matches will be confirmed at a later date.
