Two-time Gagarin Cup winner Sergei Konkov expressed hope that Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin will once again regularly score goals in NHL regular season games.
Ovechkin scored Thursday in the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets (3:2 in overtime) and ended his 14-game goalless streak.
– I would like to believe that now Ovechkin’s business will soar. Of course, it is difficult to be a visionary in such matters. He passes and helps the team. It would be great for him to contribute to the team’s success. Let’s see what happens next. Time will show us. It’s difficult to predict anything now,” Konkov said, as quoted by RB Sport.
Ovechkin, 38, is the second-highest scorer in league history with 828 goals. According to this indicator, he is second only to Canadian Wayne Gretzky, who has 894 goals.
