As learned, the Spartak striker Ilya Kovalchuk will play in the Fonbet KHL championship match against Kunlun Red Star.
Earlier, in an interview with , Chairman of the Board of Directors of Spartak Alexander Yakushev said that Kovalchuk will return to the KHL on December 24 in the match against Kunlun.
The match will take place on Sunday at 14:00 Moscow time at the Luzhniki sports complex.
Kovalchuk signed a contract with “Spartacus” until the end of the season. The last time the 40-year-old forward took the ice in KHL games was in April 2021, when he won the Gagarin Cup with Avangard as captain.
