Athletistic / Hockey. Honored Russian hockey coach Vladimir Plyushchev shared his opinion on the match of Spartak forward Ilya Kovalchuk. The 40-year-old forward, who joined the team, took to the ice during the match against Kunlun Red Star.

The match ended with a victory for Spartak with a score of 5:2. Kovalchuk scored one of the goals.

“As far as I know, Ilya Kovalchuk was preparing for the continuation and end of this season. And taking into account his age and a rather long break in his career now, there are probably certain shortcomings in his game. But nevertheless, he is “A worthy adult and an experienced player – therefore adequately assesses his condition. I think Ilya’s performance in the team’s first match was satisfactory,” RIA Novosti quotes Plyushchev as saying.

Egor Titov: “I was the first to congratulate Kovalchuk on his return to Spartak”

Kovalchuk signed a contract with Spartak until the end of this season.
