Athletistic / Hockey. The Clutch Points portal published an article by journalist Tristin McKinstry dedicated to the upcoming NHL All-Star Game. The North American did not include Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin among the candidates for participation in the All-Star weekend.
“Today, Ovechkin’s candidacy for the 2024 NHL All-Star Game is more relevant to the discussion. His performance this season has declined noticeably, but the Russian star still shares the team’s lead in points If we only talk about popularity, then Ovi is most likely to be his division’s candidate for the All-Star Game, but his participation in this event is no longer as obvious as before.
“Washington’s best chances to make the All-Star Game right now are Alexei Protas, John Carlson or Dylan Strome,” McKinstry’s article states.
Alexander Ovechkin scored 20 (6+14) points in the “goal+pass” system in 31 games of the current NHL season.
“Washington” after 31 matches has 39 points and ranks seventh in the Eastern Conference standings. On the night of December 28, the capital will face the New York Rangers.
