“I was born in Leningrad in 1981 and grew up on streets similar to those depicted in the series “The Boy’s Word”. This series honestly and without embellishment describes those difficult times and the boys who lived on these streets. Leningrad in the late 80s was not much different from the Kazan presented in the series. I thank the creators for the honest and talented storytelling. In any, even the most difficult, moments, you can behave like a real man. Even on such streets you can survive and subsequently become a worthy citizen, a patriot of your country.
At the time, it was sport that represented salvation for many ordinary children. I say this as the son of a judo coach who has helped many people, taking kids off the streets, teaching them to defend themselves, and raising real men. Today, raising a new generation is much simpler, but the importance of sports, including hockey, remains important even today,” Rotenberg noted on his social networks.
The SKA team occupies 4th place in the Western Conference of the KHL after 43 matches, with 57 points.
