The Slovak national team opened the scoring in the ninth minute of the match thanks to a goal from Samuel Gonzek, assisted by Peter Repcsik. For a long time, both teams failed to score a goal. In the final minutes of the match, the Swiss replaced the goalkeeper with a sixth outfield player, but failed to come back and instead conceded two goals in their own empty goal from Peter Repczyk and Servac Petrovski.
The Slovaks won their two matches in the tournament, leading Group B. In the next meeting, the Slovak team will face the Norwegian team on December 29. Switzerland will meet the American team tomorrow, December 28.
