Double Olympic champion Alexander Kozhevnikov assessed the success of the Russian striker “Tampa” Nikita Koucherov who scored his 300th goal in the National Hockey League.
“Nikita is making great strides in the NHL and it’s great that he managed to score his 300th goal.
— Will he be able to reach 100 points in a season again?
“Kucherov can do it, and we have the right to count on him, but it all depends on the will of God and his ability to avoid injuries,” Kozhevnikov told RT.
At the same time, Kucherov’s 300th goal in the NHL did not save Tampa from defeat in the match against Florida – the meeting ended with a score of 3: 2 in favor of the Panthers.
Kucherov became the 11th Russian in NHL history to reach this mark. To do this, he had to play 679 matches. The leader in the number of goals scored in the NHL among Russians is Washington forward and captain Alexander Ovechkin (828).
