Goalie CSKA Ivan Fedotov told that his main trips in 2023 were trips to the Maldives and the United Arab Emirates, as he needed a good rest after serving in the army.
In the summer of 2022, Fedotov signed a rookie contract with the NHL club Philadelphia Flyers, but he was called up for military service. At the end of his service, the goalkeeper signed a two-year deal with CSKA, which was registered by the Kontinental Hockey League in July.
— The main trip of 2023?
— Maldives and Dubai. I spent the whole year in the barracks, so for me any rest was like a gift for a child. I was extremely tired and emotionally exhausted. And on vacation, I got high.
— What do you wish for the new year?
– Calm, peace of mind. It is important. One life, one health. You don’t want to upset your loved ones and you need to enjoy the present moment, without setting limits for yourself,” Fedotov told .
In August, the International Hockey Federation (IIHF) refused to register CSKA’s contract with Fedotov due to the existing agreement with Philadelphia. Fedotov was disqualified for four months from September 1 and CSKA was banned from international transfers for a year. In August, the Russian Hockey Federation (RHF) sent appeals from the club and hockey player to the IIHF. On December 16, the IIHF disciplinary council announced their rejection.
