Early in the third period, the Finns took the lead on a goal from Lenny Hämeenaho, but Slovakia equalized midway through the third period when Dalibor Dvorski sent the puck into the goal.
Finland regained the lead a minute before the end of the third period thanks to a goal from Aleksanteri Kaskimaki, but the Slovaks managed to equalize the score again in the last minute of the match, the team was saved by Filip Meshar.
In overtime, Ere Lassila’s precise shot brought victory to Finland.
