Pittsburgh American goalkeeper Alex Nedeljkovic became the 172nd NHL goaltender to miss Russian forward for Washington Alexandra Ovechkina .
“Washington” defeated “Pittsburgh” with a score of 4:3, Ovechkin scored on the power play at the end of the first period, bringing the score to 4:0. This is Ovechkin’s eighth goal this season. This puck was also the forward’s 830th career goal. Nedeljkovic became the 172nd NHL goaltender to miss Ovechkin.
Only Canadian Patrick Marleau (177) and Czech Jaromir Jagr (178) have surprised more goalies in the NHL.
Ovechkin, 38, ranks second on the league’s all-time goalscoring list with 830 goals, 64 behind Canada’s Wayne Gretzky (894).
