“Barys” beat “Locomotive” in the Fonbet KHL championship match.
The Kazakhstan team defeated its opponent in a shootout on Wednesday with a score of 5:4 (1:2, 2:0, 1:2, 0:0, 1:0).
Anthony Kamara scored twice for the winner (20th and 56th minutes), David Sklenicki (26th) and Joseph Labate (38th) each scored a goal. Lokomotiv scored goals from Alexander Polunin (8), Alexander Elesin (10), Alexander Volkov (51) and Rushan Rafikov (59).
Kamara scored in the seventh consecutive game and set a new Barys record for longest scoring streak. The previous record belonged to Nigel Dawes, who kept a clean sheet in six consecutive matches during the 2017/18 season.
Barys won the fourth consecutive game and scored 39 points, but still in 11th place in the Eastern Conference. Lokomotiv is second in the West with 64 points.
In the next match, Lokomotiv will play away against SKA on January 5 and Barys will visit Traktor.
