Athletistic / Hockey. Washington Capitals captain and forward Alexander Ovechkin believes fellow Pittsburgh Penguins Evgeni Malkin is an NHL star.

“Malkin is an NHL star. Zhenya is an incredible hockey player, he knows how to win. It’s not surprising that he scored so many points playing in this league,” Ovechkin was quoted as saying by the NHL press service.

Evgeni Malkin was drafted second overall by Pittsburgh in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He moved to the United States in 2006. The 37-year-old Russian won the Stanley Cup three times with the Penguins. Currently, Malkin has played 1,099 games in regular NHL championships and scored 1,261 (485+776) points using the goal+pass system.
