Howard scored a double and became the tournament’s top scorer
Team Sweden in the home final IIHF World Championship U-20 could not compare anything with her peers from USA – 2:6.
The hosts held out for almost the entire first period, equalized the score at the beginning of the second, and then managed to reduce the lead to a minimum – the intrigue in the match lasted for a long time.
But the American team mercilessly finished off the opponent in the third period and won with a big score.
Stars and Stripes forward Isaac Howard scored a double and became the author of the largest number of goals at the tournament – 8. In the overall scoring list (goals + assists), he shared the championship with the Czech Jiri Kulich.
As a result, the United States won the world championship in this age category for the sixth time. European teams have not been given youth World Cups since 2019.
