Athletistic / Hockey. The American team won the World Junior Hockey Championship. In the final of the tournament, the Americans confidently defeated the Swedes with a score of 6:2.

The match took place in Gothenburg (Sweden) at the Scandinavium stadium.

At the end of the first period, Gabe Perrault opened the scoring, giving the Stars and Stripes the advantage. At the start of the second half, Otto Stenberg restored balance to the score. But then Isaac Howard scored a double. Before the break, Jonathan Lekkerimäki managed to come back from a goal down, but the hosts did not have enough strength to do more.

In the third period, the American team scored three more times. Ziv Buyum, Ryan Leonard and Rutger McGroarty scored.
