Russian youth team hockey player Rimashevsky about his absence at the MFM: “I’m sure we would have climbed high”

Forward of Dynamo Moscow and Russian youth team Egor Rimashevsky told that if the Russian team had participated in the World Junior Championship, they would have achieved a good result.

The Junior World Championship took place in Gothenburg, Sweden, and ended on January 5 with the victory of the American team in the final against the Swedish team (6:2). The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) had previously suspended Russia from participating in the tournament.

— The World Junior Hockey Championship recently ended. Have you followed this tournament?

— I watched two periods of the final match. I can’t say whether the Russian team would have won or not. But I am sure we would have climbed high,” Rimashevsky told .

The last time the Russian national team won the World Junior Championship was in 2011, when they defeated the Canadian national team in the final in Buffalo (5:3).
