CEO “Tractors” Ivan Savin named the conditions under which Alexei Zavarukhin will remain the head coach of the Chelyabinsk team for the next season.
In November, Zavarukhin, 43, was confirmed as head coach of Traktor, replacing Anvar Gatiyatulin in the role. The Chelyabinsk team has scored 57 points in 49 matches and is in sixth place in the KHL Eastern Conference standings.
— Shumi Babaev became an agent of Alexei Zavarukhin. Will this affect negotiations with him over a new contract?
— Shumi Babaev became Zavarukhin’s agent after we agreed on all the conditions. I think Alexey made this decision with future contracts in mind. With us, everything is very clear: there will be a result – there will be a subject for communication on further cooperation.
— What team performance will be considered a good result?
— I will say this: even passing the first round will not be enough to say with certainty that Alexei Zavarukhin will remain the head coach. He is aware. His task is to pass two rounds of the playoffs,” Savin quotes RB Sport.
