For the fifth time this season (and for the third time in shootouts) the Kiev team beat their main rival
Leader Favbet-league Sokol in a dramatic confrontation achieved a strong-willed victory over Kremenchug – 3:2.
The current champion lost the lead twice during the match. In the end, everything was decided in a shootout, where Vladimir Cherdak scored the decisive goal.
Kiev goalkeeper Bogdan Dyachenko won the third shootout against Kremenchug in the 2023/24 season. And Sokol beat his principal opponent for the fifth time during the championship.
The capital club is leading in the Favbet League, 9 points ahead of the Kyiv Capitals (while the pursuer has three games in hand). Kremenchuk is fourth, one point behind Dnieper. The representative of Poltava region suffered a third defeat in a row in the championship.
On January 25, Sokol will clash with the Capitals in the capital’s derby, and Kremenchug will play with the Berserkers a day later.
