Nizhnekamsk “Neftekhimik” terminated the contract with the goalkeeper Emile Garipov, reports the press service of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
Garipov joined the Neftekhimik team in the 2022/23 season; in March, the club extended his contract for another season, despite the fact that he only played 7 matches due to injury. This season he played eight matches in the Fonbet KHL championship.
Previously, the 32-year-old goaltender played in the KHL for Ak Bars Kazan, Avangard Omsk, Dynamo Moscow and Traktor Chelyabinsk. In total, he played 315 matches in the KHL, during which he won 169 victories with a reliability coefficient of 2.02 and 92.9% reflected shots.
Neftekhimik, having scored 56 points in 56 matches, is in eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings.
