The Russian Hockey Federation (RFH) has issued a statement regarding the death of a hockey player from the EkoNiva-Bobrov team.
As previously learned, the 2006-born hockey player died during training; The doctors who arrived on the scene were unable to save his life.
— The 17-year-old forward of the EkoNiva-Bobrov team, playing in the National Junior Hockey League, died following a cardiac arrest during training.
The Russian Hockey Federation mourns the bereavement, expresses its condolences to the relatives and friends of the hockey player and will monitor the progress made in determining the causes of the tragedy, said a statement published on the FHR website.
The National Junior Hockey League also expressed its condolences.
— Today in Bobrov, a player from HC EkoNiva-Bobrov died during training. The NMHL Championship expresses its condolences to his family, friends and those who knew him well, the message said.
EkoNiva-Bobrov from the town of Bobrov, Voronezh region, plays in the National Youth Hockey League (NMHL). The team is part of the Voronezh club of the All-Russian Hockey League “Buran”.
