Russian attacker “Columbus” Egor Chinakhov scored two goals in goal “Seattle” (2:4) in the NHL regular season game.
Kraken hockey players confidently led 3-0 in the middle of the third period thanks to a double from Jordan Eberle and a goal from Jared McCann, when Chinakhov scored twice in nine minutes.
The Russian’s actions were not enough for Columbus to return to the match – 13 seconds before the final siren, Seattle’s Brandon Tanev hit the empty net and established the final score.
For Chinakhov, the double in Columbus was the third of his NHL career and the second this season. He has surpassed the 50-point mark in the main overseas league and now has 51 (25+26) points in the goal+pass system.
Following the results of the match, Chinakhov was recognized as the second star of the match after Eberle (2+1, return “+1”).
Columbus’ goal in this meeting was defended by Russian goalkeeper Daniil Tarasov, he managed to save 22 of 25 shots. Forwards Kirill Marchenko and Dmitry Voronkov, as well as defender Ivan Provorov, were not effective.
Columbus is in penultimate place in the Eastern Conference with 40 points, Seattle (52) is 10th in the West.
