— The capital’s derbies always attract the attention of supporters. Was the match against Dynamo important to you?
Every match is important. But since Spartak against Dynamo is a historic derby, especially since we played 2 matches in a row, the match was more like a small playoff. Of course, we were actively preparing. Dynamo are just above us in the standings, so there was a good chance to get closer to them, and that’s what we did.
— Congratulations on your victory. What do you think of the role of the Spartak captain?
Good as captain. Unfortunately, our current captain was injured, but he is now perfectly fine. We’ve had a lot of guys that have been injured and are slowly coming back, so I think the team is going to start playing even harder.
— Did you put together the team for the match in a particular way?
No, we are still in a good mood. But when you are captain, you of course have additional motivation. You want to pass it on to the players, to the guys. I think we succeeded: we won the match. The most important thing is the result.
