Athletistic / Hockey. St. Petersburg SKA captain Alexander Nikishin, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, asked the head of state to help resolve the issue of fan transportation. Players of the military club are concerned about the city government’s plan to close the Park Pobedy metro station, closest to the SKA Arena, due to reconstruction.
“Vladimir Vladimirovich, there is a big question,” Nikishin began. But Vladimir Putin immediately answered this question: “How much? – referring to financial aid to the team. This question from the head of state amused those present at the meeting at the SKA Arena.
According to RIA Novosti Sport, St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov responded to the SKA captain’s question. The head of the Northern capital said that the city authorities would resolve the issue of additional transportation from other metro stations convenient for fans to the SKA Arena.
The plan to close the Park Pobedy station for repairs was announced in spring 2023. The SKA Arena was put into operation in December 2023 and the SKA will move there in February.
