At the end of the first 20 minutes, Berdin collided with Brosseau, then started a fight with him, as a result of which he threw the attacker onto the ice and hit him several times. For this, Berdin received a five-minute suspension for fighting and “2+10” for instigating the fight. Brosseau received a five-minute suspension for fighting and a two-minute suspension for blocking.
— Based on the documents presented, the decision was made:
1. Leave unchanged the penalty imposed on Sochi goalkeeper Mikhail Berdin under clause 3.4. Article 28 of the KHL Disciplinary Regulations (Instigator of a fight), punishable by a fine.
2. Leave unchanged the sanction imposed on Kunlun Red Star forward Devin Brosseau under clause 3.1. Article 28 of the KHL Disciplinary Regulations (Fighting).
3. In accordance with clause 4.4. Art. 28 of the Disciplinary Regulations, if a player is punished with a third major fine and each subsequent major fine for fighting, Brosseau receives a one-match disqualification and an individual fine, the press release specifies.
