Russian attacker Tampa Bay Lightning Nikita Koucherov took third place in the ranking of the best players in the National Hockey League (NHL) according to the hockey players themselves.
Athletic conducted an anonymous survey in which around 200 players participated.
The rankings were topped by Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid, who received 69.06% of the vote. Second place went to Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon (16.02%). Kucherov closed the top 3 (7.18%).
— Kucherov is very good at many things. “He’s a player who doesn’t get enough praise,” said one hockey player.
“There’s just no hype around him in Tampa.” Kuch is a quiet superstar. “He’s impressive,” noted another player.
The rating also included Russians Kirill Kaprizov (6th place; 1.1%) and Artemy Panarin (10th place; 0.55%).
