Athletistic / Hockey. Edmonton Oilers captain and forward Connor McDavid tied the record for participation in the speed skating competition at the NHL All-Star Game last night. The 26-year-old Canadian was participating in this competition for the sixth time.
According to the press service of the NHL, McDavid has caught up with the legendary Russian Sergei Fedorov in this indicator. The leader in number of participations in this competition is Tony Amonte (7).
Note that Fedorov has won the speed skating competition twice – in 1992 and 1994. McDavid has won the title four times in total (2017, 2018, 2019 and 2024).
It was he who won the skill competition of the NHL All-Star Game, which will be held in Toronto (Canada) in 2024. This allowed the captain of the Oilers to become the owner of a cash prize of one million bucks.
