Athletistic / Hockey. Colorado Avalanche goaltender Alexander Georgiev won $100,000 following the results of one of the NHL All-Star Game competitions. In 2024, the event takes place in Toronto (Canada).
Before the NHL All-Star Game, skills competitions were held in Toronto. The winner of all eight competitions was Edmonton Oilers captain and forward Connor McDavid. The Canadian won $1 million.
But it was Georgiev who made the most saves in the one-on-one competition with goalkeepers. Players were given the opportunity to independently choose a goalkeeper and try to hit his goal as many times as possible per minute. McDavid chose Georgiev, but the 27-year-old Russian managed to fend off 9 shots from the Canadian in 60 seconds.
On the night of February 4, games of four teams will take place during the NHL All-Star Game. This year’s teams are named after their captains: Team Connor McDavid, Team Hughes Brothers, Team Nathan McKinnon and Team Auston Matthews.
