Nizhnekamsk “Neftekhimik” in the away match, Fonbet of the KHL championship turned out to be stronger than Togliatti “Lada” (4:2).
At the end of the first period, Jean-Sébastien Di and Dmitry Sokolov scored for Neftekhimik, then shortly after the break the guests scored twice more – Grigory Seleznev and Alexander Dergachev scored the goals.
In the third period, Troy Josephs scored for Lada. For the Canadian striker, this goal was the 20th of the season; he broke Nikita Filatov’s club sniper record (19) for one season in the KHL, set during the 2016/17 championship.
The final result was established less than two minutes before Pavel Kulikov’s final siren.
Neftekhimik scored 61 points and is in eighth place in the Eastern Conference, Lada (71) suffered a third consecutive defeat and is one line higher.
