Athletistic/ Figure skating. The regular KHL championship continues in February. There’s not much time left before it’s finished. Therefore, teams strive to play better in order to take a high place in their KHL conference standings and get a better start in the playoffs. One of the regular season games took place on Tuesday, February 6. Avangard welcomed SKA.

SKA quickly took the lead thanks to Arseniy Gritsyuk’s puck. Then, in the middle and at the end of the first period, the Omsk team scored two unanswered goals. Their authors were Ivan Igumnov and Igor Martynov.

At the start of the second half, Tomas Jurcho increased Avangard’s advantage. However, later the military team from the banks of the Neva managed to equalize the score. Marat Khairullin and Vasily Glotov scored their goals.

The third period started with Avangard scoring four goals in a row. Reed Boucher scored twice, and Ivan Igumnov and Ivan Nikolishin also scored. Then SKA tried to recover two goals. Pavel Dedunov and Stepan Falkovsky stood out. However, the Omsk club subsequently distinguished itself twice. The goals were scored by Reed Boucher and Mark Verba.

Thus, Avangard won with a score of 9:5. The Omsk club scored 84 points and is in second place in the KHL Eastern Conference standings. SKA leads the KHL Western Conference standings with 83 points.

SKA supporters commented on their team’s defeat with nine goals conceded. They left comments in the official community of the St. Petersburg club on VKontakte.

Lekha Alekseevich:

– Can someone explain the last decision to replace the goalkeeper in 20 seconds when you are losing three goals? What kind of brilliant solution is this?

Yoshkin Yoshkin-Kot:

– Let’s be objective, not our team’s most memorable match! Although when the score became 3-3 it seemed like they had turned the tide of an unsuccessful match, but alas! It is obvious that we have already been physically satisfied; the 2 previous matches, sweaty, with serious opponents on the road could not fail to wreak havoc!

Vadim Petrov:

– Serebryakov is not good enough, we have nothing to gain with him in the playoffs and the guys are playing well.

Vladimir Touch:

– It’s a shootout… It doesn’t matter who won… But what a hockey holiday the teams presented in Omsk.

Yevgeny Kalashov:

– The goalkeepers let us down today, otherwise everything could have turned out differently. The third period was completely lost, just like in the last match.
