Lada forward Sergei Shumakov told the story of a tough guy who played in the American Hockey League (AHL).
— Tell me a story about the AHL. Maybe about a badass.
“I’ll tell you, but it wasn’t with me.” I played with a guy – he told me. One tough guy had such a head that you couldn’t put on his helmet. I had to apply oil.
– Directly on your hair?
– He was bald. And he didn’t know how to skate, only how to fight,” Metaratings.ru quotes Shumakov.
In September 2018, Washington signed Shumakov to a one-year, two-way contract. The hockey player’s salary was $925,000. The Russian forward has not played a single game in the NHL, but in the 2018/19 season he played in the AHL for the Hershey Bears and Springfield Thunderbirds.
