The next opponent of the blue-yellows will be Poland
Ukrainian national team crushed South Korea in the first match of the tournament pre-qualification for the 2026 Olympics – 4:0.
The blue-and-yellows scored a goal in the first two periods, with Vadim Mazur and Alexey Vorona scoring. In the final 20 minutes, Andrei Deniskin made the score devastating, and half a minute later Daniil Trakht converted the majority, setting the final result.
After the first round, Ukraine shares the leadership in Group J with the Polish team, which defeated Estonia. The Polish team will be the next opponent of Dmitry Khristich’s team on February 9.
Of the qualifying quartet, only one team will advance to the final round of Olympic qualification. The final round is another group stage. Only the best teams in each quartet will qualify directly for the Olympic tournament in Milan, which will take place in February 2026.
