Russian defender “Tampa Bay » Mikhail Sergachev successfully underwent surgery in New York after suffering a left leg injury, reports ESPN.
On Wednesday, Tampa lost to the Rangers (1:3) in an NHL regular season match. In the second period, Sergachev tried to forcefully hit Canadian Lafrenière on the boards, but unsuccessfully fell on his left leg. Sergachev left the ice on a stretcher. Before the match against Rangers, the Russian had not played since mid-December due to a leg injury.
It is reported that the operation was carried out in New York. Sergachev was diagnosed with fractures of the tibia and fibula of his left leg. In the near future, the Russian will return to Tampa, where he will undergo a rehabilitation process. Sergachev is out indefinitely.
