Representatives of the hockey associations of Sweden and Finland continue to oppose the return of the Russian national team to the international arena.
“The final decision on this issue will be made by the Board of Directors of the International Ice Hockey Federation. Individual countries do not have the authority to make such decisions. The situation remains unchanged, Finland therefore remains in its position,” said Finnish representative Heikki Hietanen. .
“In the current situation, we consider it impractical for Russia and Belarus to return to international competitions. This is a question of player safety and the conduct of competitions. We believe that the situation does not has not changed, Sweden’s position therefore remains unchanged,” said Anders Larsson, president of the Swedish Hockey Federation.
